Hope

Contributed by pixie on Friday, 26th November 2004 @ 11:29:23 AM in AEST
Topic: DreamsandWishes

All I have left is hope,
It helps me feel able to cope,
If I didn’t have that I’d have nothing at all,
I know I would by tomorrow suffer a fall.

I carry my hope close,
I believe it’s this that’s helped me the most,
Without hope there would be no tomorrow,
With no hope all that I’d have left is sorrow.

Hope is something you can’t see or touch,
But it is a thing that can help you so much,
As it has me it has helped a great deal,
My hope is something nobody can steal.

At night my hope stays right by my side,
Helps me take things in my stride,
I have so much to be thankful for,
Hope for me has opened some heavy doors.

I hope that one day my happiness won’t be tainted,
I hope that one day a pretty picture will be painted,
I hope that love will always be given to my heart,
I hope that hope & I never part.

Your excellence is defined by you ability to be so plainly poetic and not overly ambiguous. I love your work. So crystal clear, and yet so picture perfect. Well written. "WITHOUT HOPE ALL I'D HAVE LEFT IS SORROW". How very true for many of us. Mountains of truth and mountains of wonder. Excellent job!!!

True. I loved the line
My hope is something nobody can steal.
because it is truly hope if it doesn't depend on someone/anything else. So many people today have their hope depend on other things...and in the end all they find is disappointment and discouragement. So, again, I did like this poem, and tis on a topic well worth writings.
