No More Generic

Contributed by Dan666 on Friday, 26th November 2004 @ 06:55:46 AM in AEST
Topic: oops

I know I changed my mind, but I'll still post the poem about it.

Just 'cos I've started calling for my mates again,
Don't mean I'm gonna be a wall leaner.
The kinda people who when you go past them,
Stare at you whilst leaning on walls.
You glimpse at them for one second,
And it's a,
" What you staring at? "
And I think,
Well you must of been staring at me to notice me looking at you.
I'm not one of those anymore.
As long as I don't start up smoking again, and getting in trouble,
I'll be alright.
I won't go back to my unhealthy lifestyle again.
No! I won't!
That's a promise.
I know that they're not really mates if I'm getting into trouble with them,
But if I stay out of trouble,
There's no harm in seeing them,
Is there?

You have a curiously innocent approach to description. I was thoroughly captivated by;

"I'm not one of those anymore."

*grins* That's such an expressive line. Intentionally or not . . .

Keep writing, Dan.

Good work Dan that person who advised you is so right, of course there's no harm seeing them, but sometimes when you hang around with people like that, you can get "tarred with the same brush" so to speak, and end up in trouble without actually doing anything!
But you sound sensible enough to me not to
slip into bad ways.
Your words are very powerful and expressed from the heart and i'm sure you'll move on to do great things with your life one day.

Johnny.

My Mum always said to me, "you can see whatever friends youlike, but if they do something you know is wrong, come away" I would say the same to you mate

Good poem, your feeling come across well

Love Dawny xxx
