THE SICKNESS OF AMERICAN SOCIETY

Contributed by steeleyes on Thursday, 25th November 2004 @ 06:11:54 PM in AEST
Topic: AmericanTragedy

Killer mum `wanted to give baby to God'

Dallas - 25nov04

THE night before a Texan housewife killed her 10-month-old daughter, she told her husband she wanted to 'give her child to God'.

Dena Schlosser, 35, was charged with capital murder Monday after calmly telling a 911 operator that she had cut off the arms of 11-month old Margaret. Police found Schlosser sitting in her living room, covered in blood, a church hymn playing in the background.

-O//-

Now here’s the kind of thing
That gives America a bad name
Hymn playing butchers
Without a trace of shame

Perhaps it happens elsewhere
Perhaps it does not
But truly in America
There is an ugly rot

Killers of all kinds
With a sadistic, sleazy soul
In a barbaric nightmare
That makes the blood run cold

Do they look at their OWN society
When they point the finger at us?
Saying we should follow them
So sanctimonious

What planet are they on?
When they think that we can learn
From a sleazeball society
That shoots before it can run?

America the Ugly
Known the world around
Violence, pornography and bigots
A ship well run aground

In hate-filled fantasy
A culture to avoid
This kind of ugly mentality
Is sickness unalloyed

Very sad but written well.
personally don't know what God was thinking when he let someone like that have a child in the first place but then there's much that I don't know. With a mother lke that I'm sure sure the child din't have a very good life.
Heart breaking and there's folks out there that would probubly give their own arm to have a little child.
I'm gonna shut up cause I'll be ragging all over the place if I don't.
Luv, huggs, mercy,
emy

You have a very interesting point of view. You must also follow politics. I agree with you, America is full of that, but not all of us are, and the entire American culture as a whole should not be persecuted by self-righteous people who assume we are all like that. At least that's what I got out of your poem. Thanks for sharing your opinion.

geez, we do love those psychotic mothers... very well written, but... yeah, it doesn't happen only in america. but with the example you put before the poem it ties everything together.
