GOOD HEARTS... OR GUNS?

Contributed by steeleyes on Thursday, 25th November 2004 @ 06:10:38 PM in AEST
Topic: Patriotic

With serial killers
Drunks and whores
Casinos and cults
By the scores
Bigoted “christians”
Hearts evil and cold
Preaching scam artists
Prey on the old
Sleazy scum cities
Pornography and vice
Corrupt business
With hearts of ice
A sickness in America
Deep rotten to the core
A scummy population
Who always want more
Sick politicians
Dealing in fear
An ugly system
Violence is near
This is the culture
That spews out its hate
To a better world
Infecting their fate

With wise scientists
Who would help the world
Seeing their discovery
Brightly unfurled
Warm-hearted Americans
Who understand
That it will take kindness
Hand touching hand
Giving self-less
With a smile
Talking quietly
All the while
These are the Americans
We know and love
Sense and they go hand in glove
All that they do
And all that they say
Make the world better
In every way

Who will win out
In the long run
Those with the good hearts?
Or those with the gun?

I liked this one a lot. In movies the good guy always wins, but in real life it tends to be the bad... Good write.
