Love Sparks a Thousand Fires

Contributed by Mouth on Wednesday, 24th November 2004 @ 09:16:26 PM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

It is love that sparks a thousand fires
So set me a blaze with your passion
And make love to me with your verse
It matters not the miles that seperate us
Or the distance growing closer that brings us together
It is these moments, late hour letter writing
When I feel nearer to you than any other
Eventhough I know not the deepest blue of your eyes
Or the texture of your skin against my own
The sound of your voice pulls me inward
And your words slowly take me apart
Undressing my layers with each syntax
I can hardly compose myself to respond
As my pen shapes these words inscribed
With every letter of your name
Kindled by inspiration struck a thousand miles away
As you sit in your room on the other side of time
Touching me from the opposite side of the world
And I can only hope that this flame
Dares not burn too quick to fade
And this fire stays lit on the edge of forever.

I really liked this poem. I love the first and last line. They sound like they should be quotes. Great job!
