Leaving is the hardest thing

Contributed by mia on Wednesday, 24th November 2004 @ 03:46:12 AM in AEST
Topic: Grief

There’s so many things that need to be said
There was so little time to say them
Never said that I loved you
Never gave you a real cuddle
Never let my true emotions out
To you I should of gave
To sit & stare & think
I will never know why
To say goodbye was the hardest thing
To think of our last ever conversation
The flies were buzzing the sun beamed through the clouds
The hundreds of people to say goodbye
I sat crying & saw your casket
It was the closest I had been to you in months
The songs played & everyone cried
My brother was gone & it was his fault
The lowering of the casket hit the worst
The final goodbye came & I didn’t even think
I didn’t know how to say goodbye.
I put my yellow rose on your casket saying that I love you
I buy one every month to remember how much I adore you
This will not be the end
This will not be goodbye
We will reunite & linked together again
The chain has been broken once
But It will soon be relinked again
To this day I still can’t believe your gone & I suffer remember the day you passed & the day of our goodbyes
Why did it have to be?
I want you here in my arms I just want you to know I love you so much
I will not forget those cold days
That I suffered through until you were at rest.
