I lie awake at night,
Wondering to myself,
Who would ever love me,
Who would love this ugly thing
Lying there at night,
I think of my past,
And wonder how many people love me,
But I only came up with one
She was the greatest person,
She was the most beautiful,
But why did she dump me for someone else,
Was I really loved or just played
Lying there at night,
I say to myself,
I'll never find someone,
Not someone that I like

I doubt there's a poet alive who doesn't know this feeling. This tends to be even more painful if you didn't feel truly loved by your parents. I believe strongly that there is someone out there for you, and you will appreciate the person all the more for what you have been through. Look ahead. Your heart will heal and make room for another.
