A Raccoon Stuck In The Bottleneck

Contributed by Diatribe on Monday, 22nd November 2004 @ 06:01:35 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

If the view from your window were painted with perfection
That steady hand would have been your own
But you were shaking at the knees
And the love was never home
If they only knew that you were about to fall
They would have held your feet
So that you wouldn’t choke
But they weren’t even close
We should have colored happiness
With every little crayon
In the form of rain
If those were the days they loved you most
And I never would have let you tie that noose

Anything involving a noose by the end of it has to kind of tug at you. This was such a sad poem, but I enjoyed it because of that. Nice read.
