A crow in the dust, blowing wild winds.
Perched on the branch of a birch tree
welcoming winter. Pitch-black feathers
glistning in the dull morning sun. It caws out
to whomever can hear it. As snow falls from
the sky a dusty crow lifts its wings. And it flys
away with a rusty cry.

The imagery is great, I can see the wings when they are shiny and also when they have the snow on them. I love the last line. I have a poem about crows too. Maybe I'll put it up online. Great poem though! |
