Pot of Gold

Contributed by mysticpoet on Monday, 22nd November 2004 @ 09:26:16 AM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

I wanted all the riches a man could find
So I packed my bags leavin' my past behind
Searching for happiness, but fame would do
Never thought I'd find my fortune-fallin in love with you.

I followed the rainbow to find it's pot of gold
What I found was greater, I now have you to hold

You're the pot of gold at the rainbows end
Far better than the riches I asked God to send
I wanted gold and silver cause I was a greedy man
But the love I found is priceless--
Now I'm the richest in the land.

Love lasts forever, earth's riches fade away
Now I have your love, I thank God every day
I wouldn't trade your love for riches or for fame
Since I found you, my life hasn't been the same

You're the pot of gold at the rainbows end
Far better than the riches I asked God to send
I wanted gold and silver cause I was a greedy man
But the love I found is priceless--
Now I'm the richest in the land.

I recieved riches better than silver or gold
I found true love--I'll forever have you to hold
