Lovely as a dream, but real as can be.
Our number is six, the hour is three.
We're far from our camp, unsure of the way
But safe as long as together we stay.
The dark breeze blows cool; let loving hearts melt
Insecurity shields. This utopia's built
On a castle-like rock, with a brook for a moat.
The waterfall's notes do heavenward float
And mingle with music from each girl's throat.
We're praising our God; we sing for each other,
Heard only by kits and their raccoon mother.
We share our hopes, our different dreams.
Our pending brook splits into separate streams.
The leaves above, in the full-moon night
Reflect pieces of silvery light
That shine in our eyes like a shattered moon.
Treasure this moment- we graduate soon.

This really is an excellent write! I'm surprised no one has commented on it!! The flow is great and the imagery is very vivid. Nice job. I look forward to reading more of your work. |
