A Starving Artist

Unseen or not it is still there,
though unwanted it lingers.
But now scripted at least it is expressed,
now less of a burden in my chest.
My canvas is lost,
still inspiration and vision overwhelm.
An Artist who cannot tire,
OBSESSED
with a magnificent idea,
Eaten away by a need for it
to come out, COME OUT!
Oh what cruel punishment is placed upon me!
The artist starves, is thirsting for a way to
touch that one life, leave my mark on the world,
to not be forgotten.
Insanity grows
As the paint cracks, dry, under the brush,
no one is looking, no one wants to see.
So quietly they wait, time rolls on unaware
of the terrible screams inside
unbearable!
piercing!
Waiting for the moment, when it will come rushing
with the force of a midsummers storm,
as they sit wide eyed
clinging to HOPE
all that is left on the blank canvas.

This poem really touched me. I was actually going through this earlier today. The feeling makes you nauseous. I hope you don't mind but I am saving this one to my favorites. I loved it so much, beyond words.

Don't even know what to say but had to comment because this poem shocked me, if a good way. |
