Forgotten Soul

Contributed by LegendsDream on Sunday, 21st November 2004 @ 07:53:55 AM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Midsummers breeze left my dog tags screaming out in sound,
clutching them to silence, has since killed the music in me
As my tears fall softly upon blood red ground,
white stones streching as far as the eye can see.

The unheard crys whisper through cemetary trees,
holding me in forevers embrace
They live in my heart, allthough killed overseas,
your world can never see beyond this expressionless face.

The pain screams out as it rips out of my soul,
eternity's way of never letting go
And how this war tourchures my dreams so
speaks of the hurt that youll never know.

The music died when they buried my Marines,
the memory of them still fills my prayers
And how I am the last of that fireteam,
lost in a world that forgot how to care.

This can't be read without touching the soul of the reader. Your spelling could use a little work, but that's technical. This is so heartfelt and real and brimming with a courage most of us will never begin to comprehend.
