Christmas Enchantment

Contributed by 61grahamj on Sunday, 21st November 2004 @ 01:30:21 AM in AEST
Topic: ChildrensPoetry

It is once again that magic time of year
Which my heart holds so dear
Faiery Christmas enchantment
Happy songs and pretty cards sent
Aussie fairies weaving magic spells
Gaily decorating green gully’s and dells
Christmas beetles all silver and gold
Sparkling in gum trees so shiny and bold
Bright butterflies add to the fun
Song birds singing carols to everyone
Wombats and possums watching it all
Cricket and cicadas having a ball
Fairy children with eyes so bright
All dreaming of Christmas night
Presents of sweet candy and toys
Dolls for the girls and bikes for the boys
Fairy mums waving wands around
Turning on Christmas lights in old fairy town
Rainbows of colour flashing left and right
Gold Christmas bells add to the sight
You can feel the Magic float in the air
Peace and happiness and nary a care
White Wallabies instead of reindeer
Pull Santa’s sleigh over here
With red fire flies lighting the way
Oh! what a wonder full Christmas day.
