Upon the day we lye down next to each other,
Stare at each other for hours with out end,
Getting closer as the day turns to dusk,
The black of night covers the room like a sheet,
The glistening of your eyes in the darkness,
The essence of your scent fills the air,
I slightly caress your neck
Feeling the pulse of your heart calling me,
But still we stare at each other,
Waiting for the other to make the first move,
Knowing not what to do,
But together wanting the same thing,
Nervousness making your stomach fill with butterflies,
Hands shaking as I run them across your cheek,
Brushing the single strands of hair back from your forehead,
And making a slow chill run up your back,
Neither of us move alone,
But together meeting each other at the end,
Lips faintly touching one another,
Within a kiss that will last forever,
In our minds as we sleep,
In our stories that we tell our children,
And most of all in my heart.
