I began to watch her dream her dreams,
of days to come and distant things.
Eyes that flick and patter,
stretching, reaching, thoughts to gather,
trip through memories scattered.
Bathed in sleep 'till morning brings,
twilight gone, the mockingbird sings.

Gosh - this tugs at my heart. What a lovely poem for her...
I think she just needed someone's gentle care (someone to hold her paw and tell her it was ok). She was so lucky to have you.
*hugs*
