You sang a sad song to me yesterday
And together we cried
But it’s lonely in my head today
It must be warmer inside
I remember the first time I smiled
The day you caught me off guard
You stole my peace back when I was a child
Why do you make this so hard?
Why can’t I just be free from this chain
That holds my head so far down
Should I release my hold on your pain
Would I be broken without
I think today I’ll just lay down and rest
While the rain passes on
Close my eyes in the sins I possess
And stay here till the grey dawn

Even better than an episode
of Magnum P.I.
It's really a nice poem.
