Mirage

Contributed by danimus on Saturday, 20th November 2004 @ 02:01:57 PM in AEST
Topic: selfstruggles

Sometimes I feel as thought I'm a mirage
People stare but never know
How.
I got there
Do I project something entirely different?
From what I think
Now.
From that time spent
Not to think would be all lies
Apart from representation
Misunderstood sometimes
But its resolution
Far away nobody knows
Me as I am
Nobody wants to get close
I am only a man
Only a man
A man of depth
Man of depth
Not just a mirage
For staring but to draw
draw you in
draw you in
Under my skin
Plenty to give
Untouched and fragile
So learn me for awhile

i too feel a certain loneliness. i also love how you compared that invisible feeling to a mirage. i've felt like that many times, people dont see you as you are. but what does the line mean "for staring but to draw"?? as in fooling people with that mirage?> and what about the line "so learn me for awile" what does that mean? good write. check out some of mine!!

This poem had a really good sense of direction and it came to a head properly. It grabs the reader on a personal level, and it reminded me a whole lot of John Lennon's kind of setup. This was a really good poem.
