She sits alone in her dark, cold chair,
Sterile old granny casting a stare,
Black, large eyes like a bead,
However cautiously I still proceed
Our house is sodden and filled with shoes,
The colour of the walls are light yet navy blue,
Peeling ceiling and bare boned floor,
I’ll wait for a chance then rush for the door
As I gather momentum, the exit is near,
In a few seconds I’ll be rid of my fear,
Downs goes the handle, daylight breaks through,
From here on in my life is new

Interesting, although I'm unsure how quickly old granny could run after you even if she saw you leave. *grins* You might want to take the S off of "downs." But it's an interesting poem. Cheers! |
