Dancing

Contributed by iodinelove on Friday, 19th November 2004 @ 03:45:11 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

Alight in the pause of breath,
It is a new day.
Laughing tumbled spilling gown,
You are a train wreck,
A warm body on bodies on
Children dancing to their rest;
You are the broken summers breeze.
That is only the beginning, you said.
That is only the beginning, and this is the end.
This is the end; on blue carpets,
You said,
I’m tired, let’s rest; this is the end.
I lay beside you, a plush, beige flesh
Wrapped in flesh in-
Steel faucets paper clocks,
You said,
Can you dance?
I said no I said I could dance in the frame
Of your face in the sudden
Sinking feeling I feel
When the sun goes down.
The sun goes down, and I am alone I am
Cardboard coughing madly at the moon;
The empty wolves bay;
Silver dances on the water of my love,
You said.
I await your silver waters, I said,
They are almost the color of your hair.
They are open negatives on a sound day
Bitten bloody on my tongue
Lapping the milky shadows off the sky.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
