Suffering

Contributed by luna_mica on Thursday, 18th November 2004 @ 08:18:35 PM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

Why is there death and destruction all around me?
Whatever happened to Love, Peace, and Harmony?
It seems that no one can co- exist,
Any days of joy and happiness I have missed.
Life has been pure mortal hell,
Ever since the day that Man fell.
I've got no one to talk to,
No one to help me through.
All my poetry is about no one being there.
Why do I think people read it, that they even care?
This is for my self, lost on a high shelf.
Too high for me to repossess,
Packed down with all this excess
Called a body, and a mind.
I want to leave it all behind.
Just to be myself, without restraint.
And live purely, without constraint.
Whats up with people, killing others.
For a cause like "Protect the water!"
Or burning buildings with people's precious belongings
With oxymoronic anger, under the slogan "Save the trees!"
Why are people idiots? Why are they starting riots
Over differing views of the same **** thing.
No longer Peace, no longer Love, only suffering.
Take me away, love, take me away.
To a place where there is no ending day.

I think this was a good poem, but if you took out the lines:
"All my poetry is about no one being there.
Why do I think people read it, that they even care?"
I think that would improve your poem, Because i think that 'almost' everyones (not all) poetry is about themselves. Poetry is a good way to express your feelings. Keep trying and writng!

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
