I simply count the scars

Contributed by Am on Thursday, 18th November 2004 @ 04:19:14 PM in AEST
Topic: selfstruggles

I can count how many times my heart has been broken
I simply count the scars
I can count how many times my dreams have been shattered
I simply count the scars
I can count how many times I've messed up
I simply count the scars
I can count everytime I couldn't say no
I simply count the scars
I can count all of the times I didn't know how to cope
I simply count the scars
But I quickly find
There are too many to count

A haunting poem that remembers the times
when you were at your weakest. It seems
rather simple, but it is its simplicity where the
poem finds its strength.
