I'm hiding beneath your fingernail
I'm just another grain of sand
So let me join the countless others
and please, rinse your hand
I share a goodbye
with a friend whose fate I see in me
He's a drop of rain already falling
and will shortly join the sea

I like your poem, It's very good. I don't know if it's a love lost, unless the grains of sand are his countless loves that he has had and your friend was one of them like you. |

Pretty intriguing - I like the metaphysical imagery within the desire to return to the collective all. Are we just looking for an excuse? I wonder. Good write.

what an opening line!
and WOW how eactly can you be under someone's fingernail but still able to tell them what to do?
*thinks to herself that sounds sarcastic and so notes that it's not
And hiding, there's an intreging choice of words.
