Will You Dance On My Grave?

Contributed by pixie on Wednesday, 17th November 2004 @ 12:19:02 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Will you dance of my grave when I die?
Will you stick up two fingers instead of goodbye?
Will you spit all over my headstone,
Will you cut the grass when it becomes overgrown?

As I lay there in my coffin six foot under,
Will your laughter be heard I wonder?
Or now I’m dead will you at last leave me be,
Can I say from you that I will ever be free?

Please let me pass over into the next world in peace,
Go & play with someone who’s alive, not deceased,
You had your fun with me when I was alive,
You had more pleasure than honey bees in a hive.

As my cold, dead corpse lays there so still,
Are you that cruel, are you really that disturbed & ill,
That you will even now abuse my body as it rots,
No longer do I want to a part of your sick plots.

I am meant to be at rest in an eternal sleep,
But from my peaceful destiny you will me forever keep,
I am dead now, no longer one of your play things,
It is well & truly over, listen as the raven sings.

I wish ravens really sang. We have them by the hundreds..they're very intelligent..but they make the most irritating sound..a clicking in their craw. Your poem is so beautiful it deserves a beautiful song..but I know why you used the symbolic raven.. great write pix. I'm going to read the teddy bear one now..
