The Day I Left Amber

Contributed by crash on Tuesday, 16th November 2004 @ 04:41:49 PM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

I still remember our first kiss
On that night we were so emotional
It took me so long to work up the courage
I hoped I hadn't made a mistake
I took off, not long after that night
The day I left I lost my light
I didn't want to be hurt so I left the fight
Not realizing my heart was at stake

It seemed forever that I ran
But it wasn't long before I came back
I nearly died just to see you again
Not long after I said "I love you"
To say it without a lie
Girl that scared me to death
In the moments that followed
I took no breath
Til I heard "love you too"

The weeks that followed
were the best I've had
Life with you
just mad me glad

Before a month was over,
I got courage again
I took you in the back
and then I took a knee
the look in your eyes
mistified me

I made a short speech
and then I got to the point
Once again time stood still
and I drew no breath
I almost died
when you said yes

We went for another week or two
then it was you who needed a break
I felt as though I had already lost
So with my stuff
out the door, our love I tossed

I've thought of you
every day I can remember
Life just isn't the same
since I left Amber

Awwww. That is so sweet and yet sad. I heard a long time ago if love is emant to be it will, if not you will have many heartaches but a new person will temporairly fill that space. Good luck.
