The Circus

Contributed by Rae on Tuesday, 16th November 2004 @ 03:38:42 PM in AEST
Topic: ambiguous

dragonflies darted to me like i have sinned.
it's not a stray bullet,
but an escape artist's knife in midair.
there was silence from 3 am to 6 am and
a big white F on a black sky woke me and
grabbed my sight.
lurking in the darkness is
the red face of the girl in my closet.
harmed by those that forced her in,
she committed revenge to
no one else but me.
i feel her hand burning my wrist and
she chants an 18-word sentence
until i can't take it any longer.
why tell me these when you know very well that
i feel the same thing?
that i've said those phrases before with different morbid endings?
let this be the beginning of a solemn Friday eve
where ladies and gentlemen eavesdrop and murmur
behind two great doors
and hanging above them are hands of angels.
the castle crumbles to my feet
as i'm taken from here to there.
petals of yellow roses threwn along the
aisle of the grand sacred building.
light breeze forced into the
underground cellar where
sinners should've been punished,
blood spilled out of lashes,
you, helping me out and speaking in Latin.
gray and gloomy.
Autumn hasn't been recognized for centuries.
white tutus flutter behind algaed mangroves
and popping alligator's eyes.
faceless hooded monks chase me
around in this bare yet omniscent forest.,
carrying with them records of lovers needed to be killed.
my feet couldn't feel the tongues underneath them.
couldn't feel the glass thorns.
a cradle.
a note.
a hand.
a pair of eyes who'll save me from all things evil.
repent.
retell this.
deliver this nicotine.
abandon my spine.

Sounds as if someone is being taken where they don't want to go..latin is being spokin..that could be the court..forcing mental help or it could refer to the church..
hooded monks..the cradle..I'd say it speaks of abortion and the church..smoking..all the sins the church speaks out against..cutting..suicide..someone is in the mental hospital..being shuffled from place to place..I don't know it sounds like one huge foggy mental breakdown.
