Blank Pages

Contributed by pixie on Tuesday, 16th November 2004 @ 06:32:56 AM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

In my book there are so many blank pages,
It has been this way since the dark ages,
Just can’t seem to fill in the little gaps,
The sheets of paper in the wind they do flap.

I wonder if my book will ever be filled,
But how many tears will have to be spilled?
How many different emotions will have to be shown?
Will I have to let everything become full blown?

Everyone else’s books are filled with writing,
Their lives packed with happiness & things exciting,
I don’t feel like I have done very much at all,
Other than to keep rising up from my falls.

I sit here & stare at my blank existence on earth,
Just a thought I wonder how much it’s worth?
Not a lot I would imagine as I have not done much,
Never have I really lent out & touched.

I have not took life & embraced it really,
I haven’t done enough, not even nearly,
I sigh as I think back on my wasted young life,
I know what I should’ve done, but how do I put it right?

I loved this poem. I felt the same way untilI had my baby..Now I see a reason to live... But i still feel like there is so much more I could have done. Like everyone has a great accomplishment... I'll say it again, I loved this one!!!!

You really touch a sensitive issue there:
Why oh why didn't I do this when I was younger?

I look back and got nothing but mistakes to remember. Good write.

Hunni, your books is gonna be full, with tears, with laughter and with all this amazing poetry! lol.
Really though...you have lived for alot, and your poetry shows how much you have been through in your life. You have done alot...if you see it that way.
I do understand though, I tend to feel this way quite a bit.
Great write hunni.
much love,
Phil xxx

Good poem Pixie,
We all feel this way at one time or another.
I've thought in the past, if I die today, who would miss me, whose lives have I touched,
whose lifes are better because of me. There
are so many things in life I want to accomplish. Everyday, I try, don't always succeed, but try, to make a differance in at least one person's life.

It really sounds like you are trying to find yourself here, I have felt that way so many times. You are a wonderful person, with such talent believe that and everything else will fall into place.

Keep writing your words. Keep sharing your thoughts. Your pages are filling faster than you thought. Your a poet with a great gift of words. It's a part of your life and will take up many books.
