Agrypnia

Contributed by kyletycz on Tuesday, 16th November 2004 @ 02:04:15 AM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

The sun goes to rest;
So why cant I?
I want to sleep
I constantly try

I count the sheep
I tally their number
I still dont sleep
Never do I slumber

The night melts into the day
What time is it? I do ponder
The night and day
Into one another they wander

They blend into one
Not a difference from light to dark
My life seems distant
It lacks any spark

You drive yourself insane
Insane when you sleep not
When sleep doesnt come
Your mind will rot

Sleep, Sleep, FALL ASLEEP
I lie in my bed
I lie myself to sleep
I lie Im dead

I stare
At nothing
I stare
Not knowing
I stare
And think
I stare
On a colapsing brink

Stop staring you idiot
Stop and go to sleep
My brain will not let me
My misery neck deep

Im tired;
But not tired
Im tired of this nonsense
Tired and uninspired

Im ready for the night
I know not why
Becuase even then I sleep not
Even in the nightly tide

Im falling
But not falling asleep
Im falling from sanity
A sanity I cannot keep
