Conversations with Johnny Salami II

Contributed by Aquaelius on Monday, 15th November 2004 @ 11:33:48 PM in AEST
Topic: ambiguous

And I look at her,
and she looks at him,
and she looks at me,
and I look at him,
and he looks at her.

And I'm on the ocean, me and my trusty raft,
And I feel the ocean sway, up and down,
and maybe it's not the ocean, but me swaying... up and down
feeling the highs and the lulls.

The sweet salt air breathes against my skin,
All cares float away... small puffs of clouds putting by and by,
and I feel the coolness of the water, the lullabye of the waves... up and down
teetering at the peaks, and carousing the valleys.

Time flutters on... and on.
And the ocean stops, the world on pause...
the whiffs of clouds fall from the sky, the waves frozen as ice.
No peaks, no lulls...

And I look at her,
and she looks at him,
and she looks at me,
and I look at him,
and he looks at her.

And the sigh of a thousand angels dying sweeps through my world...
and on every follicle of my being, I sense... the storm a' brewing.
The world becomes unpaused... and waves pick up.
And the peaks become dizzying higher, and the dips become frightenly lower.

{Crack}, a lighting bolt slashes at the sky,
I can feel the jagged edges digging into the soft blue.
And the waves tear at my raft, teeth knawing at the wood.
The clouds chocked with salt, stinging my eyes, tears pouring out...
{Boom}, the thunder rages around me.
My body recoils, muscles wincing at the pain.
And I clutch at my raft, secretly sobbing...
The water growls at me... Will it ever end?!

And I look at her,
and she looks at him,
and she looks at me,
and I look at him,
and he looks at her.

And I begin to cry...
Please stop... please make it stop... the ocean is no fun...
the waves are drowning, the sky is scary...
I'm only half the raft I used to be...
The air itself has turned against me, the salt spray quezing.
Stomach turning at each slight touch,
Body resisting the heave of torment.

And I look at her...
and she looks at him...
and she looks at me,
and I look at him,
and he looks at her.
They look at us,
We look at them,
And I... black out.

Very metaphorical, i enjoyed this a lot! I loved hw you use the ocean analogy about swyaing up and down being the highs and lows... Thanks for sharing!

Wasn't at all what I expected from the title! LOL
It's intriguing with an interesting "chorus" too, and great images inbetween. Keep writing! Cheers!
