I CAN FLY

Sitting on top of the world
The wind whispers to me
It caresses me and holds me
The sun kisses my face drying my tears
The pines lean to listen to my pain
I bury my fingers under the earth
Lifting it up in my hand
I let the earth slowly slip through my fingers
Just as this world has let me slip from sight
I watch the wind blow the tall grass
Looking as though God is sweeping his hand over it
This beautiful world I once knew as a child
Is now filled with such hate and pain
It would be better to end my suffering
But I can't bring myself to do it
Someday I would love to visit this beautiful place again
And stand at the edge of the world
And see if I can fly
