It was Innocence

It was Innocence that I fell for you,
That you would never be mine, I knew.
Yet I remember you in all my breaths,
You were someone to the world, you were the world to me.
You said nothing, but I heard something,
From heart to heart, a warm feeling.
By knowing you, I came to know myself.
When everyone ditched me, you offered help.
Everyday the sun shines, and shows me where I stand,
In either a forest or an ocean deep,
My heart cries...my heart bleeds...
Oh! the bygone days would never come,
The innocent air and the pure water we enjoyed,
How do I tell you that...I miss them...I miss you.
Because it was my Innocence... that I fell for you.

A beautiful rendering of your loss of innocence for something true. Tiffany J. (Red_October) |
