Canopy Of Darkness

Topic: EmotionalPoetry

.....it seems to be a collared submission
is all that she would seek
but she's blinded to the future
while begging to take a peek
she will reach out her tiny hand
to take you in a step
when she's laughing all the way
from the excitement that has crept
yet on the one side of her mind
is the evil that men have wrought
if one can capture the ethereal girl
she'll be all that you have sought
her come hither is smoldering now
a fire just under her skin
she'll encircle your soul and save you
as long as you lend her your sin
bind her body so that she may soar
empty the pretty little brain of thought
send her on that flight of freedom
showing her she's at her safest when she's caught
light the pensive fire within her
watch her flutter from the chains
transform the pixie from the siren
let her tears flow free from the pain
the task in front of you may be daunting
immeasureable wealth just on the other side
but be careful her patience is slowly killing her
as she no longer wishes to hide
she's kneeling before you with the ties to bind
the eternal flame needs a steady light
the flow from your voice will astound the senses
the collar begets the whip and so may the flight
she's been made ready for her altar's sin
a broken angel without a home
her pedastal, a fortress prison
the lock so crushed and now she roams
the forest floor caressed her fall
and so she searches out in vain
crunching leaves under foot
she's looking for the kingdom of sane
blinded from the darkest of nights
her wings have no flight among the trees
the danger is her lack of trust now
she'll hide herself before she truly sees
a den of evil just up that hill
can you find her before she falls
she's hiding just behind your back
but you fail to hear her mournful calls
she told you more than once that she would be right there
but only when you're ready to look
take too long and she may falter
trapped inside the lair of some crook
she's more than open for the taking
has been for quite some time
turn around and she might be there
or just gone without a rhyme
a molting spirit, she dares to flee
to hands that know their way
she aches to reach out and grasp your presence
but she knows it would never stay
she knows you can feel her inside of you
but knowing better than to reveal herself
the journey is yours to find her
hers, to step down from the shelf
somewhere out there is the open space
freedom might be around the bend
you'll find her sooner or later
'till then she'll only just pretend
her reasoning his half-cocked and kiltered
her purpose taken by an archer's bow
she'll swing from the trees and rest in the limbs
and wait for the call of the crow
for now she's under a canopy of darkness
no alpha for her dawn
she curses the journey that's forsaken her
and dives amid the brawn.....
