Dream Within a Dream

Sleeping awake, seeing nothing with eyes wide
shut. Drifting along with open arms, feeling
everything with an intimate touch. No need to hide
this time, for your essence is healing;
lingering in the shadows of my racing heart,
clutching my soul from this oh-so-real dream.
Soft hair across my face as my eyes slowly part.
Staring back at me, I realize what love truly means;
as in my mind there is not only lust,
that icy-hot tingling that drives men crazy,
but instead a body full of trust.
With one last glance towards you, sleeping beauty,
and a good night kiss to suffice,
I realize it's not a dream, as I quietly close my eyes.
