My First and Only Love

This poem is dedicated to my first love,
And it's the only one I've ever known.
When I'm lonesome and afraid,
You come and find me, so I am not alone.
Your love goes beyond affection,
It's something I can't explain.
But when I'm with you I know I'm safe,
And somewhere I want to remain.
You accept me for who I am,
And you don't dwell on my mistakes.
You see what's good inside of me,
And you give much more than you take.
Tell me when you've heard a thank you,
That last time I've said I care.
The only reason you don't hear it,
Is because it's in the form of a prayer.
So who is this wonderful person-
The one that's ever-calm?
She's a hero, God's greatest gift,
But I just call her Mom.

AWW.. it didnt think you were talking about your mom in the beginning.. but this hit my heart really hard.. its so great that you have so much love for your mother.. this is such a warm and touching poem..
