Haunted By Shadows Of Yeterday

Contributed by pixie on Sunday, 14th November 2004 @ 01:56:58 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

Haunted by the shadows of days past,
Over my soul darkness is cast,
I try to run away but I feel trapped,
Right inside the demons I find myself wrapped.

All I want is for them to leave my side,
I long to find a place in which I can hide,
But the shadows follow my every move,
Pushing me deeper into this blackened groove.

Why does yesterday keep haunting me so?
Maybe it’s because I just can’t let go,
But I don’t know how to I am too weak,
All my horrors come out in my sleep.

My dreams are painted with the colour black,
I am trapped way down in this crack,
I long to crawl out pull myself together,
Keep out of my soul the cold & rainy weather.

I try to scream but it’s caught in my throat,
I try to shout but I begin to choke,
My mind is left in a terrifying place,
There are only bad things left to laugh in my face.

This is a wonderfully dark write! It takes the reader deep into a very vivid nightmare.

Words that relate to what I am going through right now pixie. That dark place where hands reach for the sun. I hope you find your sunshine

Brilliant poem
