Tear Down These Walls

Contributed by kidpoet_213 on Saturday, 13th November 2004 @ 05:54:03 PM in AEST
Topic: SongLyrics

Tomorrow's just another day...
Another dream... another wish to make
A new day... to wipe the slate clean... my friend
To start all over again
Making a new life...
Dreaming a new dream... from within
And living in a new day... without end

But first you've got to...

Tear down these walls...
That surround your heart
Break through to the other side
Tear down these walls...
Crumble them to dust
Bit by bit... block by block
Rip them apart... in disgust

Let the light of day shine in
'Cause you've been sitting here for far too long... my friend
Sitting in the darkness of your life
Letting your heart be hardened...
While taking up the knife
Keeping all of your pain hidden deep inside
Please... tear down these walls...
That make you feel so trapped within yourself

You've asked me once or twice...
Why do I love you so much?
Why does anyone ever love anyone?
All I know is... all I see... is...
A beautiful soul is smiling back at me
One who is... fighting to survive...
Fighting for the right...
Just to be happy in life
Doesn't want to be a burden with a knife
Thinking of death and suicide all the time

So...

Tear down these walls...
That surround your heart
Break through to the other side
Tear down these walls...
Crumble them to dust
Bit by bit... block by block
Rip them apart... in disgust

Tear down these walls...
That surround your heart
Tear down these walls...
Rip them apart

Leave the debris strewn about...
The heartache... the frustration....
The pain... the shame...
Break free of these chains that bind you
Before your heart collapses in on itself

You're a part of me now
I'm just so emotionally attached
So much so... somehow
Never thought I could love anyone...
Like I do you...

Tear down these walls...
That surround your heart
Break through to the other side
Tear down these walls...
Crumble them to dust
Bit by bit... block by block
Rip them apart... in disgust

Tear down these walls...
That surround your heart...
And let the light of love shine in...
Flooding your soul...

Tear down these walls...
Please... babe... just...
Tear down these walls...

The length of a song does not matter when words of such tenderness of this stature are used...the feelings and emotions within are felt my us all...and the strength behind such a write to someone needing it is a wonder for all...beautifully written.
