Fixing loneliness

Contributed by lostinmyself on Saturday, 13th November 2004 @ 12:35:54 PM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

I sullenly gaze back at myself,
And try to fix this broken smile,
Though most of me fears that it will stay broken forever,
I will try to tape the pieces back together.

And my cheeks are stained by lines of mascara,
As the contors of my face shape into the familiar frown,
These black rivers newly painted on my countenance,
As the dam behind my eyes slowly breaks down.

And my shattered lips speak nothing but nonsense,
Continuously whispering a thousand curses and prayers,
Ever since the moment I lost you...
...And I lost myself in the tears.

And as I gaze back at my my broken face,
I wonder if life will always be this way,
I'm constantly trying to fix the pain,
But in the ends it's all that remains.

And I am alone again...

I read this and I'm stunned. I truly don't know what to say or how to comment. I'm just so moved and the pain, lonliness just radiated from this poem.

Phil,
This is so sad, and I wish you were here so I could give you a big hug and find a way to fix it for you. I believe this pain will teach you many things. Pain always does, but that doesn't make it any easier to go through.
The poem is such a sharp and accurate reflection of what you're living. I can't tell you how much change and growth I see in your writing. It is astounding and impressive. Hang in there, girl. Better is planned for you. I believe that.

Ah, Phil, I'd give you a hug if I could (and I don't hug too often). I've never experienced rejection like this, though I have experienced the loneliness quite a bit. What they did only makes it cut deeper though, I'm sure.

Hold on to hope, my friend! I can't say when things will look better, but I do believe that Someone is eager to shower Grace and Peace on you when the time is best. Remember that we care for you.

And I too am thoroughly impressed with this writing. You express yourself better and better. You're building a great talent here.

God bless, and may your road rise up.

Andrew

Makes me feel like walking up to you and saying.."Phil, What am I going to do with you...come here"..give you a big hug and walk you over to where your real friends are...

Very painful this write...but life will not always be this way...you are not alone.

This is one of your best!!

I cant say I know how much this hurts,
but I can sort of understand your pain.
I fell out with all four of my closest friends this
year and only now I have made up with all of them.
As for the poem,
well what can i say
It is so AMAZING. I like your style alot. I am very glad to have finally found time to read your stuff.
*hugs you tight*
take care of yourself
*hugs you again*

Love
