Silence

Contributed by MomentInTime on Saturday, 13th November 2004 @ 01:37:26 AM in AEST
Topic: didactic

I view the silence there between us
as not a reason for amends,
but much more like a flaming mountain
that’s erupted ‘tween two friends.

I do know well that holy scriptures
tell that faith has mountains moved,
alas there’s not enough between us
to see a speck of dust removed.

Of solid rock this mountain’s built
and there it stands ‘tween me and you,
well I am sorry, but for me
it’s far too tough to burrow through.

I could be willed and set to climb it:
I’ve done it once or twice before,
but no! I was young then and besides
there’s no incentive, that’s for sure.

So I’ll choose to walk round it,
and even though the journey’s long
I’m in no haste, and as I travel
‘tis only God knows what I’ll find.

dear member,
good expression. you have regarded silence as a dangerous device for ur person to speak to you. but in my piece i have regarded silence as a good measure to avoid clutter.
in my poem Wordless Wit
For any language it`s a common parlance
It`s nothing but one`s silence.
girish

I have silence going on in my life too..I view it as someone that doesn't care enough to break it..and I'm too tired right now to sift through the rubble.. so in my case the silence will continue until the friendship is gone..hope that doesn't happen in your case...

Well expressed. I know the feeling - sadly, I think many of us have situations like this. I hope you find resolution and peace.
