the universe in a split second

Contributed by summers on Saturday, 13th November 2004 @ 12:24:28 AM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

trenches run red with blood
patriotism digested like quaaludes
there is no winner here
except for those who flourish on agony

return to your corners
and vomit those false ideals into a pail
(round 2)
(round 3)
(round 100)

empty clips at a mindless clone
spill their blood
they are weaker than you
they are weaker than all of us
shed your regrets
kill all you can
don't worry about your victims
worry about the survivors
only long enough to put a bullet between their brown eyes
another notch and it's in the past

you have a choice
if you live to make one.

What Hippienurse said, but with more feeling.

I must quote you on this one;

"there is no winner here
except for those who flourish on agony"

I actually gawped and read it back. Cool.
Keep writing.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
