wrinkled pillars
coated in dried blood
caked in the screams of innocents
a torture device
never cleaned
rusting in the basement
rarely is justice serve when the hand is slammed down with such speed
its not whats right. its whats convenient.
convenience is a treasure we take for granted.

There's so much about this that I don't understand, but appreciate, if you can get your head around that sentiment. I must admit to being confused by your intro blurb.
Am I reading a newspaper clipping in the first six lines? I don't know - my paltry visualisation allows me very little in the way of realisation.
But I like the slant of the last line. And I agree.
Welcome to YPDC, by the way.
You're rather good. |
