Wrapped in harsh night’s shroud
I saw you standing alone
I longed to call your name aloud
With closed eyes my heart moaned
One word and praise of your star
The moon dimmed in your eyes
Your memory burns another scar
Courage once had withers and dies
Away from her and now to me
Smile at the ground, gaze unmet
Back to where I used to be
At least hope is not dead yet
Confess the truth; yield to you
Risk too perilous to chase
Never knowing what could ensue
Walk away and remember your face
