Unknown American Soldier

Topic: war

--------________-------------

Alone we stood together
my friend, yet we just met
protecting everyone forever
memories I shall never forget

Unknown, He was 27 going on life
A brand new baby on the way
10 years, and he still burned for his wife
A million miles away, He protects them still today

They draped ribbons on a tree for him
Familes burning candles everynight
Forever praying for his saftey
As he risks himself for their life

Battle rages on, Planes and bombs filling these skies
Running, blinded by this starless night
Fear filling in my eyes
As we head towards another fight

In the blink of an eye
Our worlds passed by
Standing alone, Alive, still with my life
He lies bleeding, saving me he will now die

I drop to my knees, and clutch his hand draped of blood
How in his final moment, tears fill his eyes
Gasping for his final breaths, word clutterd like a raging flood
"Promise me" he asked with pride; "You tell them why I died"

At a loss for words, I easily agree
trembling and shaking, he utters his final words
Grasping my hand tight, as he stares at me
His face filling with death, his eyes soaring like birds

"Tell them I fought for freedom"
"That I died for them, as I died for my country"
"Tell them I loved them every moment, and everyone yet to come"
"I lived every second for them, and to do the same for me!"

He was 27 going on life
He died in my arms on the battle field that night
He died for everyones husband and everyones wife
His life gone for mine, so I can continue the fight!

God bless all our men and women
For they protect our freedom everyday
Many have died over the years
So we can live with freedom

THE ULTIMATE SACRAFICE?
THEY GAVE THEIR LIFE!
