The Weepy Willow Tree

The weepy willow tree looked so cold
Its brunette stalk looked ready to fold

Its crisp sundried hair shrivelled in the rain
All the dew heaped on it’s descending mane

This is where we first kissed; underneath the bark
The clatter of four hands and two hearts forever parked

Protected by the weepy willow tree
Forever sharing all its tepid and graceful beauty

I feel so safe underneath your cherished stalks
Like a lighthouse protecting from the grasp of rocks

I wonder if you enjoy shielding the lifelight
Your damp moist bark feels unblemished like midnight

You are a mere tree, but forever imprinted in my mind
Apart of me that no one else can ever find

I am from the south and I tell you that I LOVE weeping willows. I have seen them adorning plantations or in the middle of ponds on islands.

It is like they are bending so graceful to the sky or something and I wonder how many lover's have fallen in love beneath her shade?

This was another beautiful poem. I liked the way that you wrote about the tree. It was full of compassion and it was truly beautiful. Great poem.
