BLACK HEART OF KNIGHTS

Broke her heart,
Like a violin string.
Will she ever love again?
Will she ever sing?
I tore off her wings,
And yet she flew back to me.
I put that loving look in her eyes,
And then tore them out with my words.
I broke her heart,
With my selfishness.
I smashed her hopes,
Against the rocks of sorrow.
And they cut into my feet,
Like broken shards of glass,
As I walked away.
She hates me now,
Like she should.
She loved me more,
Than I could.
More than I could love her.
A Black Knight of Hearts am I.
Riding a white stallion of lies.
Into the sunset of my shame.
