As I woke up on that morning
I walked out from my room half awake
My mom came rushing to me, a look of fright on her face
She told me in exclamation, The WTC Towers have collapsed
It was like a knife struck me,
I quickly raced to the living room
My eyes fell upon the TV
They widened in horrified shock
Confused I was, just a little
It took a while for me to figure out this horrible event
The news flashed with vivid headlines
The World Trade Center Towers have fallen,
I though about all those people, trapped in there
I fought back tears welling in my eyes
For all those people that perished, I wept for them
Families that lost a loved one,
Are forever shattered by the loss of family member
Our fearless heroes: The firefighters, the policemen & the volunteers
They come to the longed rescue of trapped people
People run all around, scared & covered in debris
The heroes charge into the fallen rubble,
Digging & searching for any sign of human life
That sad & woeful day of 9/11,
It will always be locked in our minds
It was a day of despair, it will always remain
