Why Can't I Be Happy?

Contributed by pixie on Thursday, 11th November 2004 @ 11:18:49 AM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

Why oh why can’t I just be happy?’
It’s my birthday & I am feeling crappy,
My heart is trying its hardest to beat,
But still it lies down at my feet.

Is someone trying to make me feel sad?
Because right now I feel quite bad,
Depression can’t leave me alone even on my special day,
Please, please can’t someone make it go away?

I just want to feel as light as air,
I have so much love & nice things to share,
Happiness is not something that’s on my cards,
It has wandered away from me so very far.

I was a fool to think that it would give me a day off,
That I thought in my face unhappiness wouldn’t scoff,
But it has just as always, never leaving me alone,
It’s always there right at the end of my phone.

Laughing at me telling me that I’m no good,
It just seems that pain runs through my blood,
I smile but it doesn’t really reach my eyes,
All I feel like doing is having a right good cry.

But it’s my birthday I want to feel so great,
I want to find so much joy on my plate,
I’m sorry to everyone that I am feeling so down,
I seem to have lost the jewel from my crown.

You can be happy pixie.
I once read
Imagine if you could choose thoughts anything from the menu what would you choose.?
Hoping you have happy thoughts and do the things that make you happy.
Whishing you a great birthday pamper yourself go out enjoy life to the max.
Sometimes thoughts will invade your mind get rid of them shout at them to go away.
Big (((((HUGS))))) for your birthday have fun pixie not only today but every day this is my thoughts for you
Fabulous poem may your sadness leave you alone

All the very best

Lots of love Sweetangelukxxx

My Dear Pixie,

This is one of the most moving and beautiful things I have ever read. Not much in this world moves me to tears, but this pretty much did it today.

You are, and always will be, my favourite poet as well as one of my most valued friends.

Have a very Happy Birthday!

Love always,

Pander
