I did some research
to find my ancestory kin,
found a poem he'd written
The Lady Of The Lake in 1810.
I was amazed
by what I had found,
my ancestor was a poet
it nearly knocked me to the ground.
On August 15
in the year 1771,
Sir Walter Scott was born
a future poet to everyone.
When he was young
he was in much strife,
had an attack of polio
it gave him a lame leg for life.
A collection of poetry
he had written,
prose writing, ballad collections
as well as translations.
I couldn't have been more proud
to have a blood line of poetry,
with enthusiasm I'm filled
very proud of my ancestory.
Thank you
Sir Walter Scott,
my blood, my ancestor
from you, I've learned a lot.

Wasn't sure what to think of this when I first saw the title. Glad I read it. What an informative piece of poetry. Very interesting. You should be proud. Much peace to you. |

Hmnn.
That man was responsible for such romanticism and wayfaring of my national heritage, its considered by some to be offensive, and not a little galling.
But, like all great authors, he is given the respect for having earned this power to change a nation's identity. I'm sure it may well have been all very different, had he not been alive at the time he was.
Interesting write. |
