Garden Of Truth

selfstruggles

what's my message?
my legacy?
i am a cocktail of
manipulation & therapy...
every side of me
aches to be something more
extraordinary
(not just me anymore)
nothing is real to me
just going through the motions
full of dreams that won't come true
and the occasional
emotional
explosion
once i felt like it was never me
smiles linger aggressively
after you are alone at last the way you prayed you would be
a chapter gone
your will be done
but not so quietly
racing memories fill the air
tears turn into a blank stare
buckets of ice cold clear drop clues
an understanding of everything but you
it's a waiting game
in curious cycles
promises undone
a creation unraveled
within self and not aloud
fighting motions within the clouds
dusty trails of blackened feet
mis-matched hearts without a beat
and that is my garden of truth
pondered over in my dying youth
and i just wonder if it's all in vain......

This poem has me puzzled. I am
left to think on it. Great Write!! The
last three lines were the best and
really hit me where it hurts

I really liked this...even better on the second read. The "cocktail of manipulation & therapy" is well said.
Much more of this rang true for me as well...full of dreams that won't come true...emotional explosion...your will be done (mine in my case but it still hurts)...tears turn into a blank stare...promices undone...
And I do like the ending lines very much as well "and that is my garden of truth - pondered over in my dying youth". The whole poem is a truly great write - good flow - good word choices. And it is not in vain...always a memory worth something, a learning experience, a catalyst. |
