Anything But Blind

Contributed by Red_October on Tuesday, 9th November 2004 @ 08:57:45 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

It is with a darkness so thick it hurt my eyes
and faster than pain too sharp to describe.
I entered a tunnel of dizzying thoughts where
profundities of irrelevance would cease to care
and the disbelief untempered by comprehension
seemed less an article of faith than a proposition
(of improbability) or rather, deeper than thought to exist
I never wanted love to see me like this.

And careful isn't always the truth,
but thoughtful revisions that deepen the wounds -
inflicted of a nature too true to myself
in disrepair but willing to change in exchange for things felt.
The tunnel is longer than the bad in those days
when forgiving erased the lines in the haze.
Love would read in between and seek the obscene
until words meant nothing and I somehow felt clean.

Feared a boredom and slipped to extreme
was life not right and I started to bleed.
Rescue was something out of the question
and my overtones would alter the inflection
of my love's reaction to everything said
and after immediately would wish I was dead.
And even if forgiving would erase the lines
my love was anything but blind.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
