Daddys little girl I use to be.
He was my childhood hero, but one day his heartbeat stopped to zero.
A heartattack was to blame, he lay in the bed, in misery and pain.
He finally came home, and nothing was the same, daddy and mommy were driving each other insane.
Maybe I'm to blame...
I took my little gold earrings out that said "Daddys little girl" I threw them away because I was that no more.
He beat me for talking too loud, him, and mommy were never proud.
So I stayed in my room hiding from it all, until one day in the fall.
My parents were having their usual fight, time after time, night after night.
I crept down the stairs, and looked below.
It was silent and my mom was on the floor...
My daddy came running up the stairs, grabbing me by the hair he pulled me back to my room.
Locked me in my room, from my sanity, from my world, from my family.
I'll be here until the day I die, left alone to cry, no longer am I daddys little girl.

| I love this poem! I was never daddy's girl, i was always mommmy's. And still am. My dad is very abusive towards my mom verbally, and i feel suicide is the only way out of it most of the time. But i stick with it because my mom needs me. Kepp writing! check out my poems if you want! |
